Autumnal Equinox

September 23

At Mabon, the day and the night are equal in length, and in sublime balance. Also called Harvest Time or Harvest Home, it is the time of Thanksgiving. The beauty and bounty of summer make way to the desolation of winter, and the darkness overtaking the light.

Make a gratitude list.

Bake bread and apple themed dishes.

Meditate and reflect about the things and people in your life. This is a good moment to decide which things you don't want or need anymore.

Animals: blackbird, eagle, owl, salmon, stag, wild good, wolf

Colors/candles: brown, green, gold, orange, yellow, red

Crystals/stones: amber, citrine, cat's eye, lapis lazuli, sapphire, yellow agates

Herbs/flowers: bittersweet, chamomile, marigold, oak leaves, rue, sage, thistle, yarrow

Incense/oils: cinnamon, myrrh, frankincense, sage

Trees: aspen, cedar, locust, maple, oak, pine, walnut

Decor: fill a cornucopia with fall harvest items such as apples, squash, dried corn, pumpkins, herbs, autumn leaves, late blooming flowers, animal images.
