At Mabon, the day and the night are equal in length, and in sublime balance. Also called Harvest Time or Harvest Home, it is the time of Thanksgiving. The beauty and bounty of summer make way to the desolation of winter, and the darkness overtaking the light.
Make a gratitude list.
Bake bread and apple themed dishes.
Meditate and reflect about the things and people in your life. This is a good moment to decide which things you don't want or need anymore.
Animals: blackbird, eagle, owl, salmon, stag, wild good, wolf
Colors/candles: brown, green, gold, orange, yellow, red
Crystals/stones: amber, citrine, cat's eye, lapis lazuli, sapphire, yellow agates
Herbs/flowers: bittersweet, chamomile, marigold, oak leaves, rue, sage, thistle, yarrow
Incense/oils: cinnamon, myrrh, frankincense, sage
Trees: aspen, cedar, locust, maple, oak, pine, walnut
Decor: fill a cornucopia with fall harvest items such as apples, squash, dried corn, pumpkins, herbs, autumn leaves, late blooming flowers, animal images.
